Richmond Teen Hurt in Tractor Crash

RICHMOND -- A Richmond teenager was hurt when the tractor he was driving was struck by a semi on Highway 23 Tuesday night.

The State Patrol says 13-year-old Derek Ley was hurt when he tried crossing Highway 23 at County Road 10.

Authorities say Ley was driving a tractor that was hauling hay bales and was trying to cross the highway when he was struck broadside by the big rig.

The driver of the truck, 53-year-old Mark Barber of Alexandria was not hurt.

The crash happened at about 10:30 Tuesday night.
