Public Safety Not at Risk After Hazmat Team Called to Hospital

ST. CLOUD - The St. Cloud Fire Department Hazardous Materials Team responded to an incident along sixth avenue near St. Cloud Hospital on Friday afternoon.

CentraCare director of communications Jeanine Nistler says the team assessed an unknown substance that an emergency room patient was exposed to before entering the hospital. The team was unable to indentify the substance and may send the information to the state for an investigation.

CentraCare officials say there's no reason to believe employees or other patients are in any danger.
