One Person Hurt After Hwy 23 Broadside Crash

ROCKVILLE -- One person was taken to the hospital after a broadside crash involving two semi-trucks.

The State Patrol says the crash happened at the intersection of Highway 23 and Stearns County Road 47 near Rockville at 1:15 p.m. today.

The driver of one truck, 54-year-old Brian Kiess of Cold Spring, was crossing Highway 23 when he was struck broadside. The driver of the other big rig, 48-year-old Bruce Dewenter of St. Joseph, was heading west on Highway 23 when he struck Kiess.

Dewenter was taken to St. Cloud hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Kiess was not hurt in the crash.
