ST. CLOUD - A police officer used pepper spray on a crowd outside of a downtown St. Cloud bar.  The incident happened at about 2:15 a.m. on Sunday outside of McRudy's Bar on West St. Germain Street.

The officer was attempting to break-up a fight between two men -- 22-year-old Marvin Matthews and 22-year-old Jeffrey Bias II -- both of St. Cloud.

After stopping the fight, Matthews starting pushing the officer, ultimately grabbing his jacket and both fell to the ground.

A crowd of 40-50 people encircled the officer and Matthews, some pulling at the officer's jacket.  Pepper spray was deployed on the crowd.

Both men involved in the fight were taken to the Stearns County Jail. The officer involved was not hurt.
