ST. CLOUD -- The city of St. Cloud has been chosen as the site for the 2015 and 2016 Minnesota Senior Games.

The games are designed for individuals or teams ages 50 and older to compete in a variety of events.

Kelly Sayre is the games chair and says St. Cloud is a good choice for the games based on the city's location.

The St. Cloud Area Convention and Visitors Bureau submitted the bid to host the games.

The Senior Games have been around for about eight years. Sayre says you will compete in a variety of events over a three day period.

Events include golf, volleyball, bowling, pickle ball, track and field, race walk, cycling, basketball, tennis, swimming and more.

While an official date has not been released, Sayre says they are looking at having the games in May.
