Mareck Won’t Seek Re-Election in November
ST. CLOUD -- A longtime member of the Stearns County Board of Commissioners has announced he won't be seeking re-election this fall.
DeWayne Mareck made the announcement Tuesday.
Mareck was first elected to the board in March 2006 and has served as a commissioner since then.
Prior to serving as a county commissioner, Mareck was a St. Cloud City Council member for over 10 years.
Mareck retired as Assistant Stearns County Treasurer in the year 2000. In a statement released to the media, Mareck says...
One of the great honors of my lifetime has been the privilege of serving as an elected official in local government for the past 38 years.
Mareck represents the First District which includes a portion of St. Cloud.
It's the second open seat on the November election in Stearns County. Sheriff Don Gudmundson has said he won't be running for election this fall.
