LITTLE FALLS -- The Morrison County Sheriff's Office is asking residents to be alert about their mail this holiday season after several reports of damaged mailboxes and mail which had been tampered with.

The incidents happened last weekend east of Little Falls on Belle Prairie Township.

Sheriff Shawn Larsen is asking residents to protect against mail theft by mailing your letters at the Post Office or handing them to a letter carrier rather than placing them in your mailbox, don't leave mail in mailbox overnight, don't send cash in the mail and tell your Post Office when you'll be out of town so they can hold your mail.
