WAITE PARK -- A Waite Park hair salon is teaming up with the Central Minnesota Sexual Assault Center to put an stop to sex trafficking.

#StopTraffickingTuesdays is an innovative way to help raise awareness and help victims of sexual violence and human trafficking in our community.

Linda Wander is the Owner of Shear Dynamics. She says she wanted to do something to make a difference in the community.

"We're serving women in this community and it affect's a lot of women. My heart was longing to make a difference in the community since we know this issue is big here."

Each event will feature prizes, games, local musicians, vendors and deals on hair services. Half the proceeds raised will then go to the Central Minnesota Sexual Assault Center.

Lyndsey with the Central Minnesota Sexual Assault Center says it's wonderful to see local businesses wanting to get involved and help spread the message.

"We need to raise awareness that this is happening in our community. Having relationships with different businesses within the community really shows us they also want to bring to light what's going on."

#StopTraffickingTuesdays happens on the first Tuesday of every month from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

If you're interested in becoming a vendor or to make an appointment to donate to the cause you contact Shear Dynamics at 320-251-5009.
