Last Chances to Give Input on Stearns Transportation Funding

ST. CLOUD -- There's still a few more chances for you to weigh in on how Stearns County should fund transportation projects.

The county is considering raising the wheelage tax or implementing a transportation sales tax. The current wheelage tax is a $10 fee you pay when you buy your vehicle license tabs. A transportation sales tax is an additional tax on automotive parts. Officials are taking public input on whether to raise the wheelage tax, enact the tax on auto parts, do both or do neither.

The next public input session is Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at Sauk Centre City Hall. The last one will be Monday at 6:00 p.m. at Belgrade City Hall.
