Kathleen (Kathy) Agnes Hicks, 80, Litchfield

Kathleen (Kathy) Agnes Hicks, of Litchfield, MN passed peacefully on her 80th birthday on Monday, October 5, 2015 at the Quiet Oaks Hospice Home in St. Augusta. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 12 at the Church of St. Philip in Litchfield, MN. Visitation will be held from 3:00 - 5:00 PM on Sunday at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to the service at church on Monday. Interment will be held in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Litchfield, MN.

Kathy, the daughter of Paul and Roselia (Grossinger) Yanish, was born on October 5, 1935 in Watkins. Kathy, known by many as "Cookie", grew up near Watkins, and attended the Stickney Country School then the Eden Valley-Watkins High School. In 1953, Kathy moved to Litchfield where she lovingly provided in-home daycare for over 30 years. She was a member of the Church of St. Philip, the CCW and the Litchfield Eagles. Kathy enjoyed gardening, watching birds, fishing, and putting together puzzles. In her younger years, Kathy loved roller-skating and dancing with her many friends and family. Kathleen's most treasured moments were with her family, including her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Kathy is survived by her children, Deborah (John) Uran of St. Cloud, Jeffrey (Ann) Hicks of Anoka, Lisa Horn of Howard Lake, Jamie (Jackie) Hicks of Litchfield; fifteen grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and her brother, Albert "Slim" (Joan) Yanish of Maple Lake. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings: Mary, Robert, Veronica, Carolyn, Norbert, John, Rosie, Monica, Maggie, Andrew, Anthony, Martin, Elizabeth and Adeline.
