Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- Authorities are investigating the death of a detainee at the Olmsted County Jail.

That’s according to Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office Captain Tim Parkin. So far limited details are available.

34-Year-Old Detainee Dies After Experiencing Medical Event at Olmsted County Adult Detention Center

Parkin says deputies and members of the Rochester Police Department, Rochester Fire Department and Mayo Clinic Ambulance responded to a person experiencing a medical event at the jail around 4 p.m. on Friday, October 2.

The detainee, described by Parkin as a 34-year-old man, was transported by ambulance to a Mayo Clinic hospital where he was pronounced dead. 

The detainee’s name has not been released. Parkin says no further details are available as of Thursday morning.
