Love a Hidden Speakeasy? There are 14 Speakeasies in Minnesota

Speakeasies are fun.  They are like this hidden (literally) gem where you generally can get some very unique craft cocktails, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, along with small plate menus and shareables. Some of the fun of a speakeasy is just the getting into the speakeasy.  Some places have some very creative ways to enter.  Anything from a password, to a hidden door opener to some other means of gaining entrance.

THERE ARE 14 SPEAKEASIES IN MINNESOTA - THAT WE KNOW OF...

Anoka - there are two speakeasies in this fun, Halloween central, social district town.

Nucky's Speakeasy - A 1920s-themed lounge in downtown Anoka with retro decor.

The Hardware Store - A casual spot accessed by providing a specific passcode given during reservation.

Eagan - Volstead House - Whiskey Bar and Speakeasy. Enter through a red door inside Burgers and Bottles.  Industrial hideaway with small plates & innovative cocktails.

Chaska - Rouge 41 Cocktail Lounge. Nestled behind the beloved Red Bench Bakery. They have the tradional 20s themed ambiance and known for their pizza.

Lakeville - The Farmer's Cellar. Inventive craft cocktails and elevated comfort food in an intimate, nostalgic setting. This one is located in a gas station.  The entrance is hidden behind a faux beverage cooler.

MINNEAPOLIS HAS SEVERAL DIFFERENT SPEAKEASIES

Minneapolis.  There are several speakeasies located in Minneapolis.  Here is a list with a little bit about each one.  You could go through the list and visti them all.

Billy's After Dark (B.A.D.) Described as a immersive experience where tradition meets innovation.

Char Bar - A small quaint bar nestled within the newly revamped Butcher & the Boar space in the North Loop

Prohibition Bar Sophistication awaits on the 27th floor of the Foshay at Prohibition.  Instead of being underground like a lot of them are, this one takes full advantage of being up high with great views.

Public Domain -  Craft cocktail experience in the North Loop. First come, first served. No parties larger than 6.

Volsteads Emporium Uptown - Find the red light, step through the secret door, and enjoy craft cocktails, live jazz, comedy, and classic burlesque. Finding this one could be trickier than some of the others.

HAVE YOU BEEN TO THE SPEAKEASY HERE IN ST. CLOUD

St Cloud has one speakeasy.  Would be great to have more.  The Blue Goose is located beneath the Pioneer Place on 5th Avenue.  Great small plates, a secret entrance, and craft cocktails.  A hidden bar modeled after the infamous speakeasies that dotted America during the prohibition era.

Stillwater - The Velveteen Speakeasy. Reservations are recommended for this speakeasy.  Absolutely incredible speakeasy in the heart of Stillwater! Amazing cocktails, friendly staff and delicious small plates.

So as you can see, almost anywhere you go, there is likely to be a speakeasy somewhere in the area.
