The Minnesota Twins are taking a different approach this season in getting fans out to Target Field. On top of the giveaway promotions this year, which you can learn about here. The Twins are also enticing fans to come early and maybe stay awhile with the latest deal unveiled today, ahead of Spring Training.

Take Me Out To The Ballgame, Cheap Beer Before The Game

The Minnesota Twins announced that they would be offering up 'happy hour' and selling $2 beer before home games this year at Target Field. The cheap beer does have some caveats, but if it's successful, you'll likely see more people in the stands, to take advantage of the offer.

Here's how fans can get the cheap beer BEFORE all home games, and how other fans can take advantage on Fridays and Saturdays.

According to a press release from the team, that also announced some of the other promotions today, if you missed it check it out here, "MyTwins Choice and Reserved Members (21+ with valid ID) will get the $2 beer before every home game, while the general public can take advantage on Fridays and Saturdays (21+ with valid ID)."

Also new this year for Friday home games, there will be a meal deal for those wanting to take in some baseball from Target Field. Fans can expect Friday pregame Happy Hours to feature not only the $2 beers, but $2 hot dogs and $2 snacks, with live music from a band or DJ.

Free Ice Cream For The Kids

The Twins also announced that for those not interested in the $2 beer, free ice cream on Sundays thanks to Target. According to the press release:

Free ice cream for kids ages 12 and under on Sundays, as part of Kids Day presented by Target. Sundays also include half-price kids’ meals presented by U.S. Bank, and the opportunity to run the bases postgame.

Similar To What The Detroit Lions Do On Game Day

The Twins may have taken the cheap beer and food before games idea from the Detroit Lions. For Lions' home games, if you are in the stadium when the gates open about 2.5 hours before kick-off, fans can get discounted beer, pop, cocktails, Bloody Marys, and hot dogs.

When I went to a game with my brother a few years ago, we got there early to take advantage of the deals, and it was an extremely affordable way to do game day, especially after what you pay for NFL tickets.

Alex Wayne recently bought a mash-up of a Minnesota vehicle. It's a Mini Cooper frame with a Chevy Express van skeleton on top. This vehicle definitely turns some heads as it goes by, but it was supposed to do that.
