RICHMOND -- Homeowners along Stearns County's Horseshoe Chain of Lakes and Two Rivers Lake are hoping the rain stays away for awhile.

Heavy downpours two weeks ago has caused the lakes to rise rapidly and cause flooding issues along shorelines and boat landings.

Stearns County Chief Deputy Sheriff Bruce Bechtold says it's prompted "no wake" warnings on the lakes. Bechtold says they had water patrols out last weekend and most boaters were complying.

Bechtold says boaters also should be on the lookout for parts of docks and swimming rafts which may have floated away from their properties.

The Sheriff's Office is reminding boaters to continue to navigate the high waters with care.

Bechtold says the water is receding slowly, but that could change if we get another round of heavy rain.
