ST. CLOUD -- Economic enthusiasts gathered at Atwood Memorial Center on the campus of St. Cloud State University today (Wednesday) for the 52nd annual Winter Institute.

The event brings the best minds in the country to share thoughts and ideas on many economic issues throughout the Midwest.

Harvard Economics professor Raj Chetty was today's keynote speaker. He says part of he will be discussing upward mobility across the United States.

Chetty says Minnesota's economic mobility continues to grow.

He also discussed about today's economic mobility for children as opposed to their parents.

The Winter Institute is put on by the Department of Economics and the School of Public Affairs.

A business panel discussing other economic issues will take place tomorrow (Thursday) starting at 5:00 p.m. St. Cloud State economics professor King Banaian will be one of business outlook panelists.

The discussion is free to attend.
