Get’Em Now As Polaris Will Pull The Plug On Another Winter Toy
A Minnesota manufacturer of snowmobiles, ATVs, and side-by-sides is pulling the plug on a fun winter toy. Polaris told dealers earlier this year that this would be the last year that the Timbersled would be offered after this winter, making the dirt bike to snowmobile conversion kit a thing of the past once we hit this summer.
According to the Minneapolis-Saint Paul Business Journal (paywall) "Polaris will close a facility in Sandpoint, Idaho, where the kits were manufactured, cutting eight jobs. Timbersled kits sold this year will receive a 1-year warranty."

What is a Timbersled System?
According to the Polaris website: A Timbersled System allows you to convert your bike from dirt to snow and back so that you can ride all year long. We've been in the business since 2010, leading the industry in developing the sport of snow biking.
The kits themselves had a price point between $4,500 and $7,500 and would replace your front wheel with a ski, and the rear wheel with a narrow snowtrack, enabling you to snowmobile on your converted dirt bike.
Tariffs Might Be Playing A Role
Polaris might also be trying to prepare for what could be more a more expensive year as it has a manufacturing facility in Monterrey Mexico, where it produces off-road vehicles, including RZR models, and engine assembly, as well as injection-molding at its plant.
Currently, the 25% tariff on about half of the goods coming into the United States from Mexico won't take effect until April 2nd, which may have led Polaris to end the product line sooner rather than later, knowing it won't be cheap to move it's Mexican production back to the US, if it chooses that option if/when the tariffs take effect.
