PAYNESVILLE  (AP) — A freight train derailment in central Minnesota has sent some rail cars into the Crow River.

Eight cars of an 85-car Canadian Pacific Railway train derailed in Paynesville on Monday afternoon.

Paynesville Police Chief Kent Kortlever says two of the cars ended up in the North Fork of the Crow River.

The police chief says no one was hurt and no hazardous cargo is involved. One car is leaking sand.
