ST. CLOUD -- St. Cloud State University's dome over Husky Stadium would usually be up by now, but not this year.

Director of Sports Facilities and Campus Recreation, Ron Siebring says the dome isn't up yet because the football team is still alive in the playoffs. Siebring says if the Huskies win Saturday, SCSU could very well play host to a semifinal game the following Saturday.

Siebring says the snow doesn't hurt the turf and once the dome goes up, the turf will dry out.  The dome is heated and Siebring says the drain tiles will be kept open until the snow melts and the moisture drains away.

Siebring says the football team is also instrumental in helping move the 46,000 pounds of fabric to get the dome in place and they're busy preparing for their next playoff game.

Erecting the 90,000 square foot dome is at least a 16-hour job.

Siebring says if the Huskies lose or if they don't get to host a game next Saturday, the dome will go up either Thursday or Friday next week.
