ST. CLOUD - Heavy rain from last weekend is continuing to create flood concerns for Stearns County.

The County received several inches of rain from May 30th through June 2nd. The area has already had more than twice the average precipitation in the month of May alone.

The water is moving through the system now, causing lakes and rivers to rise. The Sauk River is currently under a flood warning, with predictions bringing the crest of the river to 7.2 feet on Friday, June 6th.

Stearns County reminds residents to avoid walking and driving through flooded areas.

Those who plan to use lakes and rivers for recreational purposes should use caution and slow speeds. With high water levels, obstacles may be under water and hard to spot for boaters.
