You might not be able to count on consistent weekend weather... but you CAN count on WJON for a solid list of fun and interesting things to do around central Minnesota this weekend!

It was hard to narrow a wide range of options into a list of 5, but we did it. Curious about what we chose?

Hear Abby and Jim break it down in this week's episode of "Five Cool Things To Do In The St. Cloud Area This Weekend."

1. DOWNTOWN ART CRAWL
Art of every kind will be on display in a variety of downtown businesses on Friday from 5pm to 9pm. Check out their website for details on artists and businesses involved.

2. WAITE PARK FAMILY FUN FEST
The city of Waite Park is in the thick of  their 47th Annual Fun Fest.  The festival has been going all through the past week, but there are still plenty of kettles on the stove. On Friday, check out the "Best of Show" Car Show and German Night. Both last through the afternoon and evening, and are happening at the Community Park Shelter.

3. HISTORIC SOUTH SIDE HOME TOUR
St. Cloud’s historic South Side University neighborhood
will be showcasing 9 historically and architecturally significant homes with tours and a wine tasting. Saturday, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.,  starting at the St. Cloud State University Welcome Center at Coborn Plaza.

4. LIBERTY DERRICK AT QUARRY PARK
Long ago, the Liberty Derrick was used to lift tons of large granite block. Today, this piece of Central Minnesota history is operated once a year during Waite Park's summer festival. Check it out on Sunday at Quarry Park and Nature Preserve.

5. WINSTOCK COUNTRY MUSIC FESTIVAL
How could we leave out this favorite summertime event? Winstock begins Thursday and lasts into Saturday night with loads of musical acts.
There's space to camp, tents for buying food and drinks, mechandise vendors - and, well, suffice it to say it promises to be a total blast - worth the price of admission and drive to  to Winsted.

This is only a HANDFUL of the long list of things going on around town this weekend.

Tell us; how are YOU spending your weekend?

And from all of us at WJON - have a great weekend!
