ST. LOUIS PARK (AP) - A father is accused of confronting some youngsters in St. Louis Park with an assault weapon because he thought they had stolen candy from one of his children.

Forty-four-year-old Orrin Hager is facing a felony charge of second-degree assault with a firearm. Police say he accused a group of boys of taking Halloween candy, began yelling at them and then produced an AK-47 assault rifle.

Investigators say Hager told them he pulled out his weapon because the boys weren't taking him seriously. No one was hurt.

Defense attorney, Joseph Tamburino says Hager never pointed the gun at anyone, but does regret the confrontation.
