The Mass of Christian Burial,celebrating the life of Dorothy Thyen, age 95 of Farming, will be 11:00 AM, Friday July 29th, at the Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Albany. Burial will be in the St. Catherine's parish cemetery in Farming. Dorothy died on Tuesday at the St. Otto's Care Home in Little Falls. There will be a visitation from 4-8:00 PM Thursday and again after 10:00 AM Friday at the Miller-Carlin Funeral Home in Albany. Seven Dolors parish prayers will be at 4:00 PM, Thursday evening at the funeral home in Albany.

Dorothy was born December 22, 1920 in Nicollet, MN to Frank and Elizabeth (Schouviller) Zins. She married Richard Wesley "Wes" Williams in Seattle in 1942 while he was in the U.S. Navy. They lived in South St. Paul. Wes died in 1959. Dorothy married Leo Thyen on Jan 30, 1960 in South St. Paul and moved to Cottage Grove. The couple moved to Farming in March of 2001. She was a homemaker and a member of the St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Farming. She also volunteered at the Mother of Mercy Nursing Home.

Dorothy is survived by her children; Joyce Cheever, Shakopee,; Diane Williams, Brainerd, Donna (Jim) Gregory, Cottage Grove; Richard Williams, St. Paul; Julie Goudge, Bemidji; David Williams, Woodbury; Theresa (Mitch) Sanchez, Avon and Beth (Jamie) Thelen, Avon. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Magdelen Gronholz, Pillager; 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great Grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Wes Williams, her second husband, Leo Thyen; her sisters Elizabeth and Beatrice, her brother, Joseph Zins and three grandchildren.
