COLD SPRING -- The Cold Spring Chamber of Commerce is looking for input on a major downtown reconstruction project planned for 2016.

The chamber invited members of the community and local business owners to a brainstorming session last Thursday. They are looking for ideas on how to improve Main Street.

City Administrator, Paul Hetland says they don't have a set plan in mind right now and community feedback is crucial.

Some of the suggestions have been to create similar light standards to match the lights along the highway 23 bridge.

Other suggestions have been to remove poles from the downtown, add more sidewalks and incorporate more space for parking.

Council member, Bob Thelen says the community has the opportunity to give feedback for a project that won't happen again for years.

The City of Cold Spring want to leave the possibilities open to get the community's creative juices flowing.

Hetland says if you have an idea for for the renovation project you can contact him directly at 320-685-3653.
