St. Cloud Rox

The St. Cloud Rox defeated the Waterloo Bucks 6-3 Tuesday night at Joe Faber Field in St. Cloud to stamp their ticket to the Northwoods League Championship game Friday. St. Cloud scored 1 run in the 1st inning, 2 in the 2nd, 2 in the 4th and an insurance run in the 7th inning.

The Rox completed a 2-game sweep of the Mankato Moon Dogs with a 9-2 win in Game 2 in St. Cloud Monday night. The Rox led 3-2 going into the 7th inning when they broke the game wide open with a 6-run 7th. Caleb Ricketts had a 1 hit, 2 RBIs and a run scored, Otto Kemp went 2-3 with 2 runs scored and a RBI, Brice Mathews had 2 RBIs and Jordan Barth had 2 hits and a run scored.

The St. Cloud Rox opened the playoffs with a 10-0 win at Mankato against the Moon Dogs in Game 1 of their best of 3 first round series. St. Cloud scored 2 runs in the 3rd inning, 5 in the 5th and 3 more runs in the 7th inning.

The St. Cloud Rox lost 5-4 at Bismarck Thursday night. St. Cloud fell behind 3-0 and then 5-2 and couldn't quite catch up. Jordan Barth had 2 hits and 2 RBIs and Peter Abinanti added 2 hits and a run scored. Zach Gagnon threw 5 innings with 5 earned runs allowed to take the loss.

The St. Cloud Rox won 10-8 at Bismarck against the Larks Wednesday night. St. Cloud scored 2 runs in the 9th inning to break the 8-all tie. Rocori graduate Jack Stiel had 2 hits and 2 RBIs, Andrew Pinckley added 3 hits and 2 runs scored and Brice Mathews went 3-3 with 2 runs scored.

The Rox walked off Rochester 3-2 Tuesday night to clinch the 2nd half Great Plains West Division title and to wrap up home field advantage throughout the Northwoods League playoffs.

The St. Cloud Rox blew out Rochester 15-0 Monday night for their 47th win this season. The Rox are just 1 win away from clinching the best record in the Northwoods League and home field advantage throughout the playoffs.

The St. Cloud Rox lost 8-7 at Duluth against the Huskies Sunday. St. Cloud fell behind 4-1, came back to tie the game at 4 before slipping behind 7-4 in the 4th inning. St. Cloud managed 2 runs in the 7th inning and 1 in the 8th inning to tie the game at 7.

The St. Cloud Rox grabbed their 46th win by defeating the Duluth Huskies for the seventh time this season, while the Minnesota Twins got shut out by the Houston Astros on Saturday.

The St. Cloud Rox got back in the win column against the Willmar Stingers and the Minnesota Twins pulled off a close win in extra innings on Friday.
