ST. CLOUD -- The Winter Storm Warning continues until 7:00 tonight and the heavy snowfall is making it difficult for plows to keep the roads clear.

The State Patrol says they are dealing with some cars in the ditch but no serious crashes at this time. They advise you to slow down and drive according to the conditions.

In Stearns County, travel is not advised on secondary roads because many are not plowed. Primary roads in Stearns County are mostly plowed, but snow and wind is causing snow to accumulate quickly.

In Benton County, few crashes are being reported, but there are reports of vehicles stuck on some county roads due to large drifts. Travel is not advised on secondary roads because plows can't keep up with the conditions.

The best advice from law enforcement is to avoid travel if you can or slow down, drive according to the conditions and prepare for icy conditions underneath the snow.

To check on road conditions, go to www.511mn.org or dial 511.
