WAITE PARK -- The fun continues as the 53rd Annual Waite Park Family Fun Fest kicks off the weekend festivities.

Committee President Mike Bruemmer says the city wide celebration became a week long event because they couldn't fit everything into just one weekend.

"We would have people who couldn't go to a few events. I mean we have disc golf Tuesday, pickleball Wednesday, so it spreads it out so more people can make all the events."

Throughout the week families experienced pickleball tournaments, disc golfing, cookie decorating and an outdoor movie. Bruemmer says they still have several fun events starting with Friday's 7th Annual Car Show at Community Park.

"We could have close to 100 cars. There will be three trophy's to hand out. There is going to be a lot of cool cars down here."

The car show starts at 4:30 p.m. with live music playing until 9:00 p.m. along with a food and beer garden.

The weekend concludes with the Grand Day parade Saturday, Karaoke contest, Food and Fun in the park and Kids Fishing contest.
