RICHMOND - Incredible music, amazing artists, and hundreds of people filled El Rancho Manana in Richmond over the weekend.

The festivities were all a part of the Homegrown Kick-off for the Minnesota Bluegrass & Old-Time Music Association.

Bob Johnson of the Blessings Gospel Trio performed on the main stage Sunday morning. He says the weather and stage create a great atmosphere for the event.

"This is a beautiful setting and we always get a good turnout here. Sometimes it can be rainy but weather today is absolutely gorgeous."

There were over 30 acts at the festival.

Johnson says one of the great parts of the Homegrown Kick-off is the music isn't limited to just what is on the stage.

"There are all kinds of informal jams going on around here. People are just picking and grinning all over the place."

The festival also hosted workshops to help people learn about the different instruments involved with old time music.

The kick-off is an annual event that draws thousand of music lovers from around the region.
