ST. CLOUD -- The Stearns County Attorney's Office has filed additional charges against a Waite Park man who killed two people and seriously injured another while fleeing police.

22-year-old Timothy Gilles also known as Ricky Gilles crashed his SUV into a van killing the driver, injuring the female passenger and ultimately killing her newborn baby.

Gilles is now charged with two counts of fleeing police in a motor vehicle causing death, two counts of 3rd degree murder and one count of fleeing police resulting in substantial bodily harm.

The incident happened on April 15th when officers with the Waite Park Police Department, the Stearns County Sheriff's Department, and the Central Minnesota Drug Task Force tried to stop Gilles' Jeep Cherokee at the intersection of Highway 15 and 2nd Street South. Gilles was wanted for a felony warrant out of Wright County.

Two marked squad cars with lights and sirens activated pursued Gilles. He went over the center median, and proceeded at a high rate of speed westbound in the eastbound lane of 2nd Street South. At the intersection of Waite Avenue and 2nd Street South, Gilles ran a red light and struck the victims' vehicle.

Gilles remains in jail on $1.5-million bail.
