ST. CLOUD - Senior athletes from all over Minnesota are coming to St. Cloud this weekend. Minnesota Senior Games Coordinator Kelly Sayre says over 400 athletes will be competing in 28 different events over four days from Thursday through Sunday.

Registration has closed, but you can come out and watch the events...

I definitely welcome everyone to come out. It's free to spectators. Come out and see some of these athletes. They're going to make you feel motivated to get up and do something.

The minimum age requirement is 50 years old, with no maximum. Sayre says there's an 88-year-old pole vaulter and a 100-year-old golfer that will be competing.

Sayre says athletes will be coming to town from all over the state.

The great thing that we're really able to promote about St. Cloud is how close things are. Whitney Rec Center is the hub of activity. So, from there that's where you can go out and because of how easy St. Cloud is to get to from all four corners of the state, and how close all of the facilities are, it's going to be a great great location.

Volunteers are still needed for a few of the events.

The Whitney Recreation Center is the main hub for the Minnesota Senior Games, with venues throughout the St. Cloud Metro area being utilized.
