ST. CLOUD -- The city of St. Cloud will be completing some road construction projects this spring and summer which will impact traffic along some popular corridors.

City crews will be updating underground utilities and resurfacing 12th Street North/Northway Drive from Highway 15 near Apollo High School to 9th Avenue North near the St. Cloud Technical and Community College.  The work is expected to begin in mid-July and last until mid-September

33rd Avenue will be resurfaced from 2nd Street South near Walmart to 12th Street North. A portion of 33rd Avenue North between 5th Street North and 8th Street North will be completely upgraded including underground utilities, water and sewer mains and sidewalks.  The project is scheduled to start in early June and continue until mid-to-late September.

Residents along 5th Avenue Southeast in the Lincoln Elementary School neighborhood will be getting new utilities, curb and gutter and resurfacing. The project will be from Highway 23 down to 7th Street Southeast and include a two-block stretch of 6th Street Southeast in that area.  City Engineer Steve Foss says they will get started in early June after school is out for the summer with completion scheduled before school resumes in the fall.

Other resurfacing projects include Clearwater Road from 22nd Street South to 33rd Street South and Clearwater Road from 38th to 43rd Streets South.  Those project timelines haven't been finalized yet, but Foss says most likely they will be completed in July.

Finally, construction on the new 5th Avenue parking ramp will keep 5th Avenue Closed between First Street North and St. Germain Street until the project is near completion later this summer.
