Zella M. Kushman, age 88, Waite Park, MN, died Saturday, August 22, 2015 at St. Benedict's Senior Community, St. Cloud, MN.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Benson Funeral Home Chapel, St. Cloud, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Wednesday. Burial will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN.

Zella was born March 25, 1927 in St. Paul, MN to Frank and Blanche (Victor) Poepke. She married Walter Kushman on October 20, 1950 in Duluth, MN. Zella worked as a secretary at Westwood Elementary School for 20 years. She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Zella enjoyed doing painting and crafts.

Survivors include sons, Alan (Deb) Kusham of Canton, MI; and John Kushman of Virginia, MN; brother, Peter Poepke of Anoka, MN; two grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Walter on February 8, 1980, and brother Sam Poepke.
