ST. CLOUD -- A new space for young professionals is coming to downtown St. Cloud. The historic Whitney building at 505 West St. Germain street is going to be a coworking space known as The Whit.

The building is owned by Inventure Properties and Spring Hill Capital. Spokeswoman

Shannon Wiger says a wide variety of professionals could use the space.

Graphic designers, artists, entrepreneurs, tech folks, people who are working remotely, all are welcome.

Wiger says they are planning to have 15 private desks, two to three private offices, and some drop-in space.

So for a low monthly cost people can come in they have access to the free wifi, all you can drink coffee, and the energy of the space.  Also, be able to use it for conference space as well.

Gener8tor and Great North Lab venture fund will also be on the first floor. The plan is to have the coworking space open by February or March.

The second floor will be the home of JLG Architects, which previously announced they were moving into the building.

It is currently undergoing a full historic renovation, which was originally owned by A. G. Whitney.
