WASECA, Minn. (AP) - A Minnesota man has been charged with modifying a sex toy so it would explode when an ex-girlfriend used it.

Thirty-seven-year-old Terry Allen Lester of Waseca was charged this week with felony counts of making an explosive device and using such a device to make terroristic threats.

Investigators say he stuffed gunpowder, BBs and buckshot into a vibrator intended for an ex-girlfriend. They say his plan unraveled after he was evicted and called his former roommates to warn them he'd left incendiary elements behind.

Authorities say he told the roommates he planned to give the explosive device to one of three ex-girlfriends because their relationship ended poorly.

The Free Press of Mankato says the roommates called police.

No telephone listing or defense attorney for Lester could be found Saturday.
