Vacant Bakers Square Building Demolished

ST. CLOUD -- The former Baker's Square restaurant was demolished Monday, paving the way for a new development at that location.

The restaurant, located at 2860 Division Street, had been closed since 2008.

Gateway Jackson Inc. of New York City owns the property and was granted a conditional use permit to build a new three-tenant commercial building on that site.

St. Cloud Community Development Director Matt Glaesman says the plans call for a Starbuck's, cell phone store and food shop.

It's unclear when construction will begin. Calls to the developer were not immediately returned today.
