University President Favors Probe Into Harassment Case Leak

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - The president of the University of Minnesota says he supports a Board of Regents investigation into who leaked information about a sexual harassment case.

Eric Kaler says the investigation of an athletic department official might not have been made public if it weren't for the leak, depending on whether the official is disciplined.

KSTP-TV first reported the harassment allegation, and says it got the information from a regent. Kaler says that there's a concern when private data is inappropriately released to the public.

The 12 regents and university employees with access to the confidential e-mail that was leaked have been asked to sign affidavits saying they didn't share it. On Friday, all of the regents signed.
