SAUK RAPIDS -- An early morning crash sent two Sauk Rapids men to the hospital with serious injuries early this morning.

Sauk Rapids Police and Fire were called to the 1300 block of 2nd Avenue South at about 2:20 a.m. for a one car crash. Police say the car left the road and struck a tree on the front passenger side of the vehicle.

The driver, 21-year-old Robert Mead, was ejected and taken to the hospital where he's listed in critical condition. The lone passenger, 21-year-old Dustin Schlien had to be pried free from the wreckage. Schlien is listed in serious condition.

Police suspect alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
