STILLWATER (AP) - The Minnesota Department of Transportation is closing the Stillwater Lift Bridge over the St. Croix River due to high water levels.

Traffic in both directions will be closed starting at 10 a.m. Monday. The bridge that connects Minnesota Highway 36 and Wisconsin Highway 64 will remain closed until further notice.

Motorists are directed to use Interstate 94 or Highway 243 as detours.

Transportation officials are also reducing Interstate 35 northbound down to one lane in Burnsville on Sunday evening, so crews can build a dike to stop water from flooding the road. The work will be finished before the Monday morning rush hour.
