WAITE PARK - It may be the most highly anticipated movie ever. "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" opens in theaters tomorrow (Thursday) night.

Ben Reiners is the General Manager of Marcus Parkwood Theatre in Waite Park. He says 14 of their 17 screens will be showing the movie on opening night.

Yes, the anticipation for this film has been tremendous ever since the release date was announced about six or eight months ago. Since then its been building. Yes, it has been the biggest release we've ever had here at Parkwood.

He says he's expecting a lot of people to be dressed in costume.

For sure costumes will definitely be worn. The only restriction that we may have is on masks. Nothing that can cover your face. So you can still come in with a costume. It's still encouraged. It's Star Wars, have some fun.

Reiners says, because it's such a high profile film, he has talked with the Waite Park police department about security.

No extra security has been brought in, as we may have done in the past. But, I have talked to the Waite Park police department, and they will be doing some additional patrolling. That pretty much is the plan right now.

Reiners says he's expecting people to start arriving at the Marcus Parkwood Theatre as soon as they open their doors at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow (Thursday).

The 7:00 p.m. shows tomorrow (Thursday) night are pretty much sold out. But, they do have openings for the showings after that. The last showing on opening night will be at 4:00 a.m. Friday morning.
