ST. CLOUD -- The St. Cloud Regional Library is hiring an outside investigator to look into an anonymous flyer that was posted throughout the building on May 22nd.

The anonymous flyer contains library personnel information about some of the employees. It was signed by "Suzy Citizen" who makes allegations against some of the board members.

The flyer states, "Administrators proposing the changes have no experience in the collection development or reference demands of the department (and should be noted are not professional/ MLS librarians). "

The flyer is making reference to the board's approval of position descriptions. The flyer also goes on to allege that such approval could result in loss of more professional level librarians.

Library Board of Trustees president, Spencer Buerkle sent out an all staff email two days later which says, "The content of the flyer and the manner in which it was distributed causes gave concerns to the board."

A meeting was held Wednesday evening in the Mississippi Room where the executive committee voted to hire an outside investigator to look into the issues because of the nature of the content in the flyer.

The investigator will look into the matter and report her findings back to the board.

Buerkle says depending on the results the board will take legal action if library policy was violated.

WJON will continue to follow this story and bring you updates as the investigation continues.
