UNDATED - The National Weather Service says there is a severe weather expected over the area this (Monday) evening, particularly over west central and central Minnesota where a moderate risk of severe weather.

Storms will continue to develop along and ahead of a cold front which will be moving east out of the Dakotas and across Minnesota this evening and during the overnight hours.

Benton and Stearns Counties are both included in a Tornado Watch until 2:00 a.m.

All severe storms tonight will be capable of producing large hail and damaging winds. However, a few tornadoes will also be possible, particularly west of a line from Redwood Falls to Little Falls prior to 10:00 p.m.. Although the storms are expected to weaken as they move into east central Minnesota during the late evening and overnight hours, damaging winds and large hail may still be possible if the storms evolve into a squall line.
