Sauk Rapids Council Begins Process to Fill Vacant Seat
SAUK RAPIDS - The Sauk Rapids City Council will begin the process of filling a soon-to-be vacant council seat. The vacancy will happen in early January, when current council member Brad Gunderson gets sworn-in as the new Mayor.
Tuesday night the council voted to have the two current council members who will still be on the council next year - Brad Gunderson and Paul Weber, and the two council members-elect - Nick Sauer and Steve Heinen, form a committee and begin the interviewing process.
The city of Sauk Rapids plans to post the open position right away, then the committee will interview the applicants for the job. The new council could then appoint a person for the seat in early January.
