SARTELL -- The city of Sartell received a $50,000 donation from Liberty Bank Minnesota to go towards the new community center earlier this week.

The check was presented to the city council during Monday's meeting.

Liberty Bank-Minnesota President Mark Bragelman says he hopes the donation will be the catalyst for future investments by organizations and individuals to support this community asset.

He also hopes to work with the city in the future on possibly bringing an outdoor music event to Lake Francis.

A ground breaking on the community center site was held earlier this month.

The 53,000 square-foot facility will include a senior center, learning and innovation center, multi-purpose rooms, three full size gymnasiums, a second floor walking track, and locker rooms.

The community center is expected to be completed by next summer.
