ROCORI Trail Project Remains On Track
COLD SPRING -- Cold Spring City Council members got an update on the proposed ROCORI Trail Wednesday night.
Project spokesman Adam Ripple says the trail will will be done in three phases with the first phase connecting Richmond to Cold Spring, the second phase from Cold Spring to Rockville and the last phase from Rockville out to the Suburban Racquetball Swim & Fitness. It will connect with the Glacial Lakes Trail to the west and hopefully the Lake Wobegon Trail someday.
The ROCORI Trail Joint Powers Board has already secured about $1.8-million for the project but aw awaiting the rail bed abandonedment to come through.
Ripple hopes they can complete phase one by paving the section of trail between Richmond and Cold Spring next summer.
