ST. CLOUD -- Stearns County commissioners have passed a resolution supporting a legislative bill which would require an audit of public spending on refugee resettlement.

The resolution points out refugee resettlement has raised questions in the community and the county wants to be as transparent as possible with public tax dollars.

The bill asks for an independent financial audit of federal, state, local, and non-profit spending.

H.F. 3034 had its first hearing and has been referred to the Health and Human Services Reform Committee.
