Police Prevent Suicide on University Bridge

Saint Cloud Police negotiators managed to talk a suicidal person from jumping from the University Bridge in Saint Cloud early Saturday.
They were dispatched to the bridge just before 2am and located a 21-year old resident straddling the bridge rail. Officers talked to the victim for about an hour before the victim came off the railing.
Officers had to physically restrain the victim from attempting to harm themselves.
The bridge was closed down for over an hour during the incident.
Police were assisted by the Saint Cloud Fire Department, State Patrol and Gold Cross Ambulance.
