MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Minneapolis police have arrested a suspect after a man died in a shooting following a confrontation on a city bus.

Police arrested the male juvenile Friday.

Officers found one man dead when they responded to the shooting Thursday night in north Minneapolis. His name was not released.

Police say the shooting appears to have stemmed from an earlier confrontation between two people on a Metro Transit bus.

They say another shooting in the area left one person injured about 20 minutes later. The two incidents don't appear related.

The shootings come as police prepare to increase patrols in some high-crime areas. City officials earlier this week announced a $300,000 plan to pay overtime for eight police officers and one supervisor. The new patrols begin Friday.
