ELK RIVER -- A joint law enforcement effort has lead to the discovery of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in the City of Elk River.

Five people were arrested after officers executed a search warrant Monday in the 19,000 block of Pascal Street Northwest in Elk River.

37-year-old Pacer Larson of Elk River, 26-year-old Savannah Stangel of Elk River and 51-year-old Randy Johnson of Columbia Heights were arrested for 5th Degree possession of a controlled substance. 29-year-old Andrew Newell of Chisago City and 27-year-old Valyncia Manheimer of Saint Augusta were arrested for outstanding warrants. Each suspect is being held in the Sherburne County Jail.

According to Sheriff Joel Brott, investigators from the Sherburne County Drug Task Force received information on possible drug sales within the city limits, which lead to the arrests.

Members of the Elk River Police Department, St. Cloud Violent Offenders Task Force and the Elk River SWAT team helped in the bust.
