Pierz Woman Causes Three Vehicle Crash, Involving School Bus
LITTLE ROCK -- Authorities were called to a three vehicle crash involving a school bus early Friday morning in Morrison County.
The incident happened at about 7:30 a.m. on Nature Road, near 250th Avenue in Buckman Township, west of Little Rock.
Sheriff Shawn Larsen says 60-year-old Jane Gerwing, of Pierz, was heading west on Nature Road and was attempting to pass another vehicle. While attempting to pass, Gerwing saw a school bus which was stopped in front of the vehicle she was attempting to pass. She then struck the vehicle she was passing, which then collided with the bus.
The school bus, driven by 70-year-old Susan Oelrich of Royalton, had flashing caution lights at the time of the crash.
Gerwing was taken to the hospital for her injuries by a private party.
The 17-year-old driver of the other vehicle, Oelrich and the school bus passengers were not hurt.
The crash remains under investigation.
