UNDATED - Former Minnesota Viking, and Super Bowl Champion, Matt Birk is spending his time these days promoting his new book.  The book is titled: "All Pro Wisdom: The 7 Choices That Lead To Greatness".

Today on the News @ Noon Show on WJON, Birk says he didn't set out to write a book, but rather it was more of a calling for him.  He says he always wanted to leave the game of football a better person than when he entered.

Birk says the book is lessons that he learned through sports.  He interviewed a lot of all pro players for the book, including Adrian Peterson and Aaron Rodgers.  But, he says the book is more about being great in life, not sports.

One of the 7 choices is "Identity". He says everyone needs to choose who they are, so they can be confident in themselves.

As for winning last year's Super Bowl, Birk says that was a great "achievement", but that doesn't make him great.

Birk spent 15 years in the National Football League, the first 11 with the Vikings and the last four with the Baltimore Ravens.  He retired from the game after winning Super Bowl 47 last year with the Ravens.
