ELK RIVER  (AP) - A man who pleaded guilty in a crash that killed two people on a motorcycle has been sentenced in Sherburne County to nearly five years in prison.

Twenty-year-old Cody Moen, of Monticello, admitted that he was trying to race a car that had passed him on County Road 17 in Big Lake Township last April when he lost control of his vehicle.

Moen crossed into the path of an oncoming motorcycle and killed 31-year-old Brien Wickham and his 26-year-old passenger, Jacquelyn Lee. Moen pleaded guilty in August to two counts of criminal vehicular homicide. He was sentenced Monday to four years and 10 months in prison.

Moen was on probation for reckless driving at the time of the fatal crash.
